Tidbits About Mrs. Choat WHO AM I? I am a daughter…a sister…an aunt…great aunt…wife…mother…grandmother…but most importantly, a servant of God. I consider working with children my ministry and I’m so thankful that I get to do it daily! It all started when I was in the second grade. My class was studying a unit on careers. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I immediately answered, “A teacher!” Well, here I am…27 years still at it! (I hate to admit it, but I have taught children of my former students!) I continue to love what I do although the testing part I could do without!!! This year, I have the privilege of teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade reading. Through our literature, we experience lots of different adventures. This opens the door for the kids to share their world with me and vice versa. In a school this size, we ‘grow together’ as one, supportive family group. Knowing what we have in common helps us to appreciate each other and our differences. That’s one reason why I think that Newcastle School is so fabulous!
