The NISD Board of Trustees met at the Newcastle Methodist Church, 605 Monroe St, Newcastle, TX on February 17, 2010 at 7:00 pm for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
Present: Tommy Dee Taylor, president, Bruce Bailey, vice-president, Beth Jordan, secretary, Kenneth Lowe, member , Kerry Lowe , member, Carla Short, member and Thomas Spurlin, member.
Board Members absent:
Also Present: Gordon H Grubbs, superintendent, & Cathy Creel, principal.
The meeting was called to order by the president, Tommy Dee Taylor. Motion was made by Bruce Bailey and seconded by Kerry Lowe to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried 7-0.
I, Tommy Dee Taylor, move that the board add (Local) policies as recommended by TASB Policy Service and according to the instruction sheet for TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 87. Motion seconded by Kerry Lowe. Motion carried 7-0.
Motion was made by Kenneth Lowe and seconded by Carla Short to approve order for Board Election on May 8, 2010. Motion carried 7-0.
Motion was made by Bruce Bailey and seconded by Thomas Spurlin to approve resolution for joint election with City of Newcastle. Motion carried 7-0.
Motion was made by Kerry Lowe and seconded by Tommy Dee Taylor to adopt all titles of the conforming books adopted by the state. Motion carried 7-0.
Motion was made by Kerry Lowe and seconded by Carla Short to approve Annual Written Report for 2010 Newcastle ISD School Health Advisory Council. Motion carried 7-0.

Motion was made by Tommy Dee Taylor and seconded by Kerry Lowe to move into executive session. Motion carried 7-0.
Motion was made by Tommy Dee Taylor and seconded by Kerry Lowe to move out of executive session. Motion carried 7-0.
Motion was made by Kerry Lowe and seconded by Kenneth Lowe to adjourn meeting. Motion carried
7-0.
