A Beautiful Night for a Football Game!

What a beautiful evening for football! There was a little crispness in the air. The Chillicothe football field was a lush green and both teams very active as they warmed up before the game! Can't get much better than that!
The Bobcats came ready to play and actually had to run more than 5 plays during this game! Justin Bohannon had a great night running the ball with 149 yards and an average of 18.6 yards per carry! That's not all Justin did do on this night. He also ran back a kickoff for a touchdown and then intercepted a Chillicothe pass and returned it for a touchdown! He contributed 5 touchdowns for the Bobcats!
Also getting into the score book was Paul Martinez. Paul caught a pass from Taylor Lewis for an extra point and then had two other rushing touchdowns for 5 and 3 yards. Brandon Bailey had one touchdown on a 5 yard run. Taylor Lewis contributed 8 points on 4 successful extra point kicks. And, David Brockman caught a pass from Taylor Lewis on an extra point try.
The Bobcats completed 4 passes for 81 yards. Brandon Bailey completed 3 of the 4 passes for 66 yards and Taylor Lewis completed 1 for 15 yards. The receivers for these passes were Jason Thomas with 2 receptions for 51 yards; Cody Coop with 1 reception for 20 yards, and Ryan Bohannon had 1 reception for 10 yards.
On defense the Bobcats were once again led by Dakota Lowe with 10 tackles and Brandon Bailey right behind him with 9 tackles. David Brockman had 5 tackles; Cody Lowe, Ryan Bohannon and Wade Spitzer each had 4 tackles; Justin Bohannon, Paul Martinez and Jewell Jackson had 2 tackles each.
The Bobcats played an all around good game with Chillicothe. The Eagles had some very good athletes but just couldn't gain any momentum. The Bobcats continue to improve each week with Rule as their final non-district game this week which also happens to be homecoming! Everyone should come out to support the Newcastle Bobcats as they face the Rule Bobcats Friday, September 25th. You can also come a little early to support the junior class as they provide a spaghetti supper for your enjoyment! The spaghetti supper begins at 5:00 pm in the school cafeteria.
