Wednesday, February 17, 2010 – 7:00 P.M.

The subjects to be discussed or considered, or upon which any formal action may be taken, are as follows: (Items do not have to be taken in the same order as shown on the meeting notice.)

Call to Order

I. Announcement by chairman that a quorum is present, that the meeting has been duly called and that the notice of the meeting has been duly posted for time and manner as required by law.

II. Open Forum: Hearing of individuals and committees

III. Hearing of appeals/grievances/complaints

IV. Consent Agenda:

1. Minutes of previous meetings
2. Payment of bills
3. Statement of district operations
4. Summary of monthly tax collections
5. Monthly/Quarterly Investment Report including daily rates and earnings
6. Necessary amendments to budget

V. Action Items:

1. Policy Update 87, affecting local policies (see attached list)
2. Order for Board Election May 8, 2010 for Places 3, 4, & 5
3. Consider resolution for holding joint election with City of Newcastle
4. Certification of Textbooks for use by Newcastle ISD – 2010
5. Consideration of Annual Written Report for 2010 Newcastle ISD School Health Advisory Council

VII. Closed Session: A closed session may be held under the provision of Texas Government Code, Chapter 551 including but not limited to Section 551.071, Section 551.072, Section 551.076, Section 551.082(a), and Section 551.083.

1. Review of Principal Contract
2. Review/discussion of personnel, anticipated resignations and possible necessity of reduction in force for 2010-2011school year

VII. Reconvene from closed session for action relative to items considered during closed session.

Adjournment

If, during the course of the meeting, any discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in closed meeting, the Board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Tex. Gov’t. Code, Chapter 551, Sub-chapters D & E.
