Our Town.......Our School
Newcastle is a
small town of 550 citizens located in North Central Texas in Young
County. We have a bank, a post office, a
city hall, a city park, two convenience stores, two cafes, an
antique store, various offices, and a Volunteer Fire Department.
The pride of our town is our school.
Newcastle School is a 400,000 square foot building, EC-12 campus school with an enrollment of 182 students. We are a class A school playing six-man football, volleyball, basketball, track, golf and tennis.
The school offers small classes with a low student/teacher ratio providing students with enhanced individual support. The 40 members of the faculty/staff provide outstanding academic instruction as well as personal care and support for each and every student.
Programs include college preparatory courses, dual-credit college classes, career/technical training, theatre arts, Spanish I-IV, and physical education. In addition, Newcastle School provides students with many opportunities to express themselves through special programs as well as interscholastic athletics.
Newcastle ISD has once again achieved the "Recognized" rating from the state of Texas and the Texas Education Agency for the 2006-07 school year. Newcastle School also earned Gold Performance Acknowledgements in the following areas:
